Gaggan
Bangkok

Gaggan is an Indian fine-dining restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand, opened in 2010 by chef Gaggan Anand in a renovated 19th-century townhouse. Anand, who had lived in Bangkok since 1996, wanted to give Indian food the fine-dining standing of French or Japanese cuisine.
The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2025 ranks Gaggan No. 6. Wikipedia notes that it was No. 3 in Asia's 50 Best Restaurants in 2025, reached No. 4 in the world list in 2019, and was the only Indian restaurant ever to enter the top 50. It also earned two Michelin stars in the first Thailand Michelin Guide.
Anand worked at El Bulli in Spain before opening Gaggan, and that experience shaped dishes such as "Lick it Up", a plate of curries that diners lick clean. The restaurant served a 25-course tasting menu written in emojis instead of words, which Anand described as a way past language barriers. Gaggan closed in August 2019, reopened months later as Gaggan Anand, and took back its original name in 2024.
