Contrada Bricconi

Alta, Italy

Contrada Bricconi is a restaurant in Alta, Italy, set in a remote 15th-century stone hamlet. It is run by a group of young entrepreneur friends, with Michele Lazzarini as head chef since 2022.

Food & Wine ranks Contrada Bricconi No. 7 in its Global Tastemakers 2025 list of the top 15 international restaurants. The magazine points to its Michelin star and its green Michelin star for sustainability, and describes Italian cooking pushed towards modernity.

The place began as an agritourism farm making its own cheese and meat. Lazzarini cooks a single tasting menu of local, seasonal ingredients, served in a rustic room of exposed brick and wooden beams. Food & Wine mentions handmade pastas, slow-cooked meats, seafood and a char ceviche.
