Don Julio
Buenos Aires
Don Julio is a parrilla, a traditional Argentine steakhouse, on the corner of Guatemala and Gurruchaga streets in Palermo Viejo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is open every day for lunch and dinner.
The World's 50 Best Restaurants ranks Don Julio No. 10 in its 2025 list. In 2024 it also topped the list of the world's best steak restaurants. Not every critic is convinced: Objective Foodie calls it "a superb one, no doubt" but finds its high place among haute-cuisine restaurants puzzling for what is, at heart, a steakhouse.
Tables are in such demand that the waiting list can run to three months, and those queuing at the door are offered empanadas and sparkling wine. Inside, tables covered in black leather face the grill cooks, under paintings of prize-winning cattle and a 1975 sculpture by an Argentine artist.
