El Mercado

El Mercado is the Argentine restaurant of the Faena Hotel Buenos Aires, on Martha Salotti street in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Chef and grillmaster Emiliano Yulita leads the kitchen, which cooks traditional Argentine dishes over a clay oven and an open-pit barbecue.

Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice Best of the Best awards rank El Mercado No. 10 among the world's fine-dining restaurants for 2026. Reviews quoted by the hotel praise the sommelier and the service, and one diner calls it a vintage, baroque room that takes you "a trip to the past".

The concept draws on the old trattoria-style cantinas of Buenos Aires and Europe's open-air markets. Exposed brick, wooden tables and antiques collected in the historic San Telmo district set the scene, and meals can also be taken outdoors on the terrace. The room seats up to 80 guests and also hosts private asados.
