Toronto General Hospital (TGH), the flagship campus of University Health Network (UHN), is a large teaching hospital in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It stands on University Avenue's Hospital Row in the Discovery District and is a teaching hospital of the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. It began as a small shed used as a British Army hospital during the War of 1812 and became a permanent institution, York General Hospital, in 1829.

Newsweek and Statista rank "University Health Network - Toronto General Hospital" No. 2 in World's Best Hospitals 2026, a Top 250 list that gives added weight to patient-reported outcome measures. Wikipedia adds that Research Infosource ranked TGH first for research in Canada in 2019, for the ninth year in a row.

TGH houses Ontario's main transplant service and is described as the largest organ transplant centre in North America, with 639 transplants in 2017. Surgeons there performed the first single lung transplant in the world in 1983 and the first double lung transplant in 1986, and in 2015 its surgeons performed the world's first triple transplant of lung, liver and pancreas. Its lung transplant program, with 167 operations in 2017, is described as the largest in the world.
