EVA Air is a privately owned international airline headquartered in Taoyuan, Taiwan, with its hub at Taoyuan International Airport. After China Airlines it is Taiwan's second-largest carrier, and it has no domestic routes, flying only abroad, to more than 40 destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. Travel + Leisure notes that it is part of Star Alliance.

Travel + Leisure readers named EVA Air the No. 1 international airline in the World's Best Awards 2026, with a score of 91.63 — the first time it took the top spot. The magazine praises its "top-notch business-class cabin" and its connections across Asia, and lists clean cabins and consistent service among its strengths. Condé Nast Traveller (UK) readers placed it No. 9 in the Readers' Choice Awards 2026.

EVA Air was founded in 1989 as an affiliate of the Evergreen shipping group, after chairman Chang Yung-fa announced plans in 1988 for Taiwan's first private international airline. According to Wikipedia it was the first carrier to introduce a Premium Economy class, launched in 1991 as Elite Class. Skytrax rates it as a five-star airline, and its fleet mixes Airbus A330 and A321 jets with Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft.
