Qantas is the flag carrier of Australia and the largest airline in Oceania by fleet size, international flights and international destinations. It is based in the Sydney suburb of Mascot, next to its main hub at Sydney Airport, with further hubs in Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. The name is an acronym of its original name, Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Services.

The AirHelp Score 2025 for airlines ranks Qantas No. 4. AirlineRatings.com places it No. 8 in its World's Best Airlines for 2025, in the top 25 full-service airlines.

Founded in Winton, Queensland, on 16 November 1920, Qantas is one of the world's oldest airlines still flying; it was nationalised in 1947 and privatised in 1967. A founding member of the Oneworld alliance, it is the only airline that flies to all seven continents, and it also serves more than 60 destinations within Australia. Nicknamed "The Flying Kangaroo", it owns the low-cost carrier Jetstar, and as of March 2023 the Qantas Group held 60.8% of the Australian domestic market.
