The Best in the World

About The Best in the World

The best restaurants, bars, hotels, airlines, airports, cities, universities, hospitals and footballers in the world — with the source of every place.

Our Mission

We show who is No. 1 in the world's best-known public rankings — restaurants, bars, hotels, airlines, airports, cities, countries, universities, hospitals and footballers — and for every place we show which ranking it comes from and when it was published: The World's 50 Best, Skytrax, Newsweek, Times Higher Education, the World Happiness Report and the Ballon d'Or.

We never make our own order: the ranks are copied from the named ranking, and the daily news articles may only use what the source headlines say. Different rankings use different methods — we always say whose ranking it is.

What we stand for

🔎

Sourced figures

Every place names its ranking and date. We copy; we never invent.

⚖️

Rankings, not opinions

'Best' depends on the method. Each ranking has its own — we say which one we show.

🌍

The whole world

People, companies, footballers, superstars, politicians and royals — from every country.

🗓️

Every day

The lists refresh daily from public sources.

Independent

The Best in the World is an independent information site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any ranking, award, person, company or place named on it. Our lists are built from the public rankings named in each entry (for example The World's 50 Best, La Liste, Skytrax, Times Higher Education, QS, the World Happiness Report and the Ballon d'Or): the more of them name an entry, the higher its place. Paid votes only change the order among entries that share a place. All trademarks belong to their owners.
